Captive audience

Since our last stay many years ago, nothing has changed except that rooms are now very tired and in need of a refurb. The resort owners obviously are not bothered because there is little choice, take it or leave it. For peace and quiet suggest request room well away from main buildings. This is a pure tourist resort, with very early morning tours, but unbelievably the breakfast restaurant closes at 10.30am, just when the early tours are returning. Good planning.

Comfortable No-nonsense Staying at the Rock

We traveled to Yalara *Which is the town 20km away from Ayres Rock*. Which is really just a resort town. For a Long Weekend Getaway. The only differences with the places aroudn the resort town is the bed/ room you sleep on. Other wise everything is the same. You can go to any of the resturants, swim in any of the pools, Do any of the activities. Book any of the tours. The money we saved by staying here was spent doing other things around the resort town. Buffet breakfeast was also well worth purchasing. And the Buffet Dinner at Sails was also worth a visit.

Expensive standard motel room

Check-in was quite slow. The room wasn’t anything special – basically a standard motel room with a noisy old air-conditioner with a broken vent that someone had taped open. The beds (queen & a single) were comfortable enough. The hotel is overpriced for what you get that’s what you have to pay to stay in the Outback

Outback Pioneer

No complaints. It was basic but clean and comfortable and you are not really there to spend time in a hotel room. It was quiet and you could either catch a shuttle to other parts of the wider resort or walk. It was easy to go on tours as they collected you from the hotel.

A place to sleep

Poor service, still awaiting our room to be ready at 15.30. Finally got to the room pulled back the blankets to rest and the sheets were dirty. For $200 a night you had to walk 50metres to use the toilets. No taps in the room you needed to fill the jug outside from a tap- which we didn't.

Very convenient for Ayers Rock and Kata Tuya

The hotel is in the resort area where there is everything you need. Free shuttle from and to the airport and around the resort. A little expensive but for something in the middle of the desert I can understand.

Great short break holiday for everybody

We had a fantastic time here. Pool was a bit cold and besides walks there wasn't much else to do there. The free shuttle bus was great. Was a bit annoying that we couldn't check in until 3 when we arrived at 1 but the porters were great. Tours and attractions were awesome but very expensive. Overall we loved our stay here but next time we'd hire a car as tour buses were very expensive and would be great having the option of visiting Uluru more often as there is no free shuttle bus.
