Basic Expensive Accom - but not a lot of choice

The room was fairly basic and the bathroom had a smell which tainted the whole room - we had to open all the doors and windows and keep the bathroom door closed to prevent the smell going into the main bedroom. It seems expensive to be paying $250+ a night for such a basic room but when you realise that you really are in the middle of no where and it is pretty much your only option other than camping - it doesn't seem so bad. We enjoyed the Under the Desert Moon dinner which was excellent value for the quality of food given the location. Book ahead if you want to enjoy this. Staff were very friendly - we required an extra milk for our morning coffee and they were more than happy to provide this to us. Don't expect anything too flash from the rooms and you won't be disappointed. Oh, and be prepared for lots of flies during the day!

Alice Springs, Uluru, Kings Canyon short-stay

Amazing to see this environmentally friendly place in such a location. Truly wonderful. Everything was perfect. Only had one night would have liked more. The sunset was awe inspiring and the bar at the viewing spot was good. Dining options was good with great entertainment. Had a short helicopter ride and enjoyed the short walk of the canyon.

Good location and staff

Hope you choose spa room with full breakfast. The room is huge and air conditioning is very good, and shower facility and spa are very good. The only thing is TV (not clear with weak signal) - that reminded you being in a remote desert, not here for TV. The staff in reception are professional and very helpful. The buffet breakfast is very good, but not to coming too late, as you may find there running out of filtered coffee or something else. The restaurant and bar are also very good.

1 night at Kings Canyon

We stayed in a deluxe spa room. This room was beautiful. The resort has a nice layout and is very clean, considering it is in the middle of the desert area. The breakfast was fairly good, but expensive, so needs to be included in the price of accommodation if you can get it. All the food is a bit expensive but I guess it has to come a long way so the transport costs would add up. We tried to get a helicopter flight but were told they weren't available for a few days. The canyon is beautiful and well worth the visit. We saw a dingo walking down the road between the accommodation and the breakfast area.

Be prepared to spend a bit more on food and alcohol. We took our own food and alcohol, but we were lucky enough to have an esky and bought what we needed in Alice Springs.

Expensive but worth it.

Standard room was perfect for our 3 night stay. Although quite expensive costs were helped by a $50- per day resort voucher. Staff very helpful and room serviced everyday. A perfect location to visit Kings Canyon and resort surrounds and facilities were a bonus.

such a dissapointment

This place wasnt good at all, the restaurant was closed, we went to the pool and no towells available, there were chairs tipped over, the lawn around the pool area looked like it hadent been mowed for months, leaves everywhere, some of the units facing the pool looked like they had months of leaves, debris on there porches, this place was a disgrace! Only good thing i can say is the rooms were clean but the beds were very hard uncomfortable. Spoke to some other people staying there at the time and they had the same opinion!
