Cullen Bay

Located less than two kilometres from the busy central business district of the capital city in the Northern Territory of Australia is the relaxed waterside escape known as Cullen Bay. The bay is considered to have a well-balanced style of both modern and village resort qualities, offering tourists the opportunity to experience Darwin’s heritage and history in a unique and magnificent way. Whether you choose to relax in the sun, swim or sightsee, the combination of tropical vegetation and exciting activities for the family make this is a memorable experience worth exploring.

  • Explore the grand feature of the bay known as the Cullen Bay Marina, where you will see over 200 sea vessels as well as great restaurants and intriguing gift shops.
  • Feel right at home browsing Darwin’s convenient local retail outlets, book and gift stores as well as the health and fitness gym facilities and friendly Laundromat services.
  • Take advantage of the freedom to choose with local boat charter operators who will take you sightseeing, cater for sunset cruises or navigate you to any specific local fishing spot around Darwin that you request.

Cullen Bay is easily reachable from the Darwin city centre; travellers can use the territory’s public transport services such as contracted bus operators or Darwin bus, a dedicated service that runs throughout the city. Other means of travel include the ferries, which mostly offer their services to travellers wanting to see Tiwi Islands. The Darwin International Airport, which is located in the Marrara suburb is the only airport servicing the city and can be reached via the Staurt Highway that runs through the Northern Territory. The best method to see the city is by means of a hired car.

What travelers to Cullen Bay are saying

Darwin in June is the best. The best weather for walking, swimming and sight seeing and good to get away from Melbourne's winter. Lots of good eating places and the new area around the wharf has a lagoon for swimming and a wave pool.

A great place to holiday, but shame about the litter everywhere. Lots to see and do - get a car though cause you have distances to travel and its HOT.
