Wonderful overnight stay

We stayed at this hotel as we were dining at the wonderful restaurant. Although the room was small , as described when we booked, it had everything we needed. It had a lovely old world feel to it and was clean and quiet. The staff were courteous and there really isn't anything to complain about except perhaps the cost of the car park which at $30 is a bit steep. Overall a lovely stay and the breakfast the following morning was ample.

Great place to take in a event at Allianz or SCG

It was fabulous. In the most perfect position for Allianz stadium. Nice 10 min.walk to see Taylor Swift. Felt safe at all times walking around the area. Lovely little shopping village and yummy food places all within 10 minutes walking distance. Bus 380 dropped me a 2 min walk to Hughenden. The hotel was great. The room small but all we needed. Fabulous new bathroom. The breakfast was delicious too. Staff were lovely and very helpful. A great stay and highly recommended.

We didn't find the staff on arrival very friendly. when we asked if we could park in the area close to our room, he said no, as it was $30 extra a day..We had to park across the road at the Hughenden apartment block, which was inconvenient with our luggage. The car park near our room was available for our 3 night stay but wasn't offered to us.And there was a cheaper deal than ours available! STAFF, needs to be more friendly, should have older experienced staff on duty.. Besies that we enjoyed our stay..ROOM was very cosy, couldn't swing a cat in it!!

Amazing location & room upgrade

We were very lucky to receive a room upgrade (from a double 'cozy' room to a terrace suite!) on our one-night stay at the Hughenden. It is in a perfect location for a visit to Sydney, especially when the function we were attending was about 10 houses down on the same street. Being on the border of Paddington & Woollahra, immediately opposite Centennial Park, makes it a 'top' spot even if there is no function nearby. Our suite was a lovely, federation-style space, with fireplaces in both the living room & the bedroom and a large bathroom with both shower & bathtub. There was even a sizeable balcony overlooking Centennial Park and, although the street between our room(s) and the park is a very busy one, noise was no issue. My only suggestion would be that the bathroom needs a small table or set of shelves to place things such as a toilet bag or underclothes. As there is a tub, some bath gel would be a plus too. The breakfast, served in the Atrium across the road, was excellent. It was a 'full' breakfast, including bircher muesli, eggs, bacon & mush-rooms as well as all the usual buffet fare. Both staff members we encountered were friendly and efficient and our stay was very pleasant overall.

helpful staff, great location, room needed a bit of brushing

When arrived staff was really helpful by assisting us with our luggage. Overall staff was superb. Our room though looked a bit tired with mould in bathroom and near window sill. I believe it was down to lack of extractor fan in the bathroom. Bed was nice and comfortable. Too bad there was no kettle in the room either as cups we provided. Breakfast was included in the price and was very good indeed with plently of choice including, tea, coffee, cereal can fruit and English breakfast. Location was convenient with just a stone throw away from nice restaurants and bars on oxford street and bus ride away from bondi beach and city central. Plus just 10 km away from the airport. Overall very nice stay but plenty room for improvement when it comes to room maintenance

overnight visit

All you need for a overnight or extended stay because of the proximity and the facilities offered . It is set in a very affluent area of Sydney but that is why we stay here away from the other rat races. All staff excell to accomodate your requests. We will always return.

Nice boutique hotel, room cleaning was very average, finding rubbish not cleaned off the floor for multiple days. Carpark gate is not always working automatically and can only half open.

Very excited then went sour.

My daughter was very disappointed when she couldn't leave her car in carpark as it was all booked out. That's ok! if it where true there was only a few cars parked all weekend. This was her first trip away in her car, she worried the whole time leaving her car on the street. I had checked a carpark months prier to her stay.I was aware payment could not be made untill she arrived. Not happy.
