Terrific Terrigal

The geographic heart of the NSW Central Coast has water pumping through its veins. From Terrigal Lagoon to the expanse of the Tasman Sea, the city wants to get you wet. Fishing, surfing, swimming, boating and diving are just some of the ways the ocean will embrace you at Terrigal.

When you’re done playing in the sea, the large, beautiful pine trees lining the beach will welcome you back to shore. And thanks to its growing reputation as a foodie hub, you won’t go hungry in Terrigal – even if you didn’t catch any fish! Enjoy the views from Onda Restaurant as you feel a million miles away from the city, while knowing in the back of your mind that you’re actually less than a 100km north of Sydney… amazing!

TERRIGAL EVENTS

It’s Australia Day – and can you think of a better place to be than the waterfront? With sheep shearing, live music, ice cream-eating comps and fireworks, there is no better place to celebrate our fair, young and free nation.

In October, join in one of the Central Coast’s biggest events, the Terrigal Food and Wine Fair. With great food and wine on offer, how could you stay away?

Come see the bling in October when more than 500 hotted-up cars line the shores for Chromefest. Mullet optional.

The Central Coast Christmas Fair in December is a great place to pick up some gifts for the family – even Santa makes an appearance!

The Entrance hosts a Carols by Candlelight event on Christmas Eve, which surely provides one of the best locations for a sing-along.

WHEN TO GO

  • Terrigal, like the majority of the Central Coast region, has a humid subtropical climate.
  • Summers are hot and humid, while winters tend to be cold and wet.
  • While it rains on and off throughout the year, the wettest time is generally autumn.

GETTING AROUND

  • Sydney’s rail network extends up to the Central Coast, making trains one of the best ways to move around if you don’t have a car.
  • For a cheaper option, jump on one of the buses, which run up and down the coast.
  • Alternatively, grab a taxi as needed.
