good amenities

I guess we got the most basic room. Everything out of room is pretty good, amazing garden, good size gym and pool (not really warm enough to be a heated pool). The room we got was small and the carpet was pretty old worn. The ventilation fan in the toilet was loud and the ceiling had area of moulds, so we didn't really want to stay in the toilet for too long.

Stopover @ the Sebel Hotel Hawkesbury Valley

Chose to stay at the Sebel Resort Courtyard Room [upper level] as a stopover for a trip to the Blue Mountains. Overall, would recommend as a good value for $$ 4 star accommodation if booked at the current low rates w. b/fast included. Would work well as a conference hotel. If you are used to 5 star accommodation, you may initially be taken aback by the low ceiling, whitewashed brick wall, small windows & dark room but you need to know this used to be an army barrack! Our room was recently renovated so the room & bathroom were very clean which is always appealing. Pro's Recently renovated. The common areas in particular are very pleasant. Apparently not all rooms are renovated - worth asking before you book. Our bathroom very small but new & nicely appointed. Nice pool area with an adjoining spa & sauna. Very pleasant light filled breakfast room with a good selection & eggs to order Good onsite parking with no charge Cons It's virtually impossible to get into the day spa - make sure you book way ahead [we were told 2 months]. Restaurant was nice but expensive for the average quality of food. Our waitress was lovely but the hostess definitely not. My $40 steak [sides were extra] was left uneaten as it was tough & flavourless. Disappointed :( This property is right on a highway - light sleepers should ask for a quiet room. 'Courtyard' rooms dont actually have a courtyard or balcony - the door opens to a common covered corridor that has a small table & chairs. Our view was directly into the breakfast room while the window inside the room looked into the backyard of a private home. Get a ground floor room if you have heavy luggage! Nothing on the [old] bar fridge & no pay for view

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Include Breakfast in your room rate - the buffet breakfast is in a lovely light filled room in the courtyard of the hotel, good selection & quality, eggs to order.
