Unique historical location

We stayed 2 nights and booked in for the adult Ghost Tour. The Q Station site is a bit hard to get to (if you're not driving) from Manly Wharf as the buses in/out only come every hour, and we ended up walking on two occasions (a steep 30 min walk). Inside, however, it's quite easy to get around as there's frequent shuttle vans and you can call reception to ask for one as well. We stayed in a Deluxe Room in block P11, which was great! It was very close to the Views Restaurant so we could grab buffet breakfast and eat on the alfresco area outside our room. The room itself is not that big and is pretty basic, but the alfresco set up is nice. It is also a short walk down the Funicular Stairway to the other restaurants Boilerhouse and Engine Room, the private Quarantine beach, and the Luggage Store/Museum. Outside and next to the Q Station Reception at the front of the site, you can also take a walk to North Head, which has nice views (Fairfax Lookout) and bushwalks. We visited the Visitor Centre and they provided us with maps/recommendations.

Great Place to stay

Q Station is a real gem. Hidden away in a National Park - you feel like you are miles away from the city and in reality you are just 2 km from Manly. Views magnificent. Very quite for sleeping. Staff could not be more helpful, and the little bus system is wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone. Jan, Wodonga

Great staff, an experience

Good for a short stay and to experience the history of the site. Rooms are not air conditioned. Need shuttle service to transport you to and from the car park.

Sydney Getaway

We stayed for a Friday and Saturday. Friday was peaceful and enjoyable. Saturday was highly unpleasant due to the loudest Wedding Reception directly opposite our room that we have ever experienced. The Hotel should have either let us know or relocated us. We were looking forward to sitting on the balcony and enjoy the view on Saturday night. The Receptionist Jasmine was a credit to Q station. Regards,

Great Experience

We are so pleased to have had the reason (wedding guests at Q-Station) to stay. It was an interesting experience and we gained so much local history of the Station and also of Sydney. The staff all seem to love their jobs as that came across in all the areas we were in. The staff at the reception were exceptional. My only thing would be a better light in the bedroom and or bathroom for applying one's makeup. I think you shall get some other bookings from our family and friends after our stay. Well done.

Different

Ok for holiday getaway, especially if you like walking and exploring. Not good for business. Warning, not all rooms have an ensuite and a shuttle bus is required for getting from reception to your room unless you like to hike. Internet is substandard (but they still charge standard rates) and on site meals are pricey. Very different from the overview! These bits have been left out!

More than just another hotel...

The location is stunning. I stayed only one night but there are so many things to do, more would have been better - history tours, swimming (great beaches with one accessible direct from the property), walks through natural woodland. The rooms are clean and feel good. Good renovation of heritage buildings. Glad I chose this place over a hotel in the city! I walked from Manly, but if you have luggage a bus or taxi would be best.

Husband & Wife day away

The views are stunning. Our room which we paid extra for had amazing views. The grounds impeccable & so much to explore. Breakfast was included & scrumptious. The only downer was our bathroom was not in our room, & the night light outside our bathroom wasn't working :-( Overall it was a FANTASTIC stay. I'd do it again :-))
