Good location

Booked for a business event. The location was very good and the nearby restaurants were excellent. The hotel itself is getting somewhat dated and the lighting in the foyer bar and reading area is atrocious. Breakfast was strictly from 6.30am and with my event starting at 7 it was a little uncompromising.

OVERNIGHT STAY

Was able to book in before 8am which was huge bonus as flight arrived at 6.30am. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. I was a little dissapointed with clenliness; bathroom mirror was dirty, dust on ledges and carpet hadnt been vacummed. But must add that the bed was very comfy and the sheets were crispy clean! Our 'Harbour View' was overlooking a demolition site and could hardly see the water in the harbour.

Not Good Value!

When we arrived we couldn't park in the Hotel carpark because it was full, even if we could have parked there, they charge $45 per day. The room we stayed in was a Queen standard which costs approx $352 per night. The description said it had a Pyrmont view. The only view we had was of an apartment building across the road. The bed was rock hard, the furnishings were extremely outdated and depressing. The roomservice menu is also extremely lacking, couldn't even get a simple piece of toast for breakfast and the thirty something dollar steak I got at the restaurant for dinner was overcooked and very tough. Wouldn't stay there again if they paid me.

Very expensive for what it offers

The services at this hotel are adequate, but in no way reflect the very high price charged. I would not choose to stay again.

Tired decore and hard to walk to

I paid a hideous amount for my room due to the Fleet Review, but wouldn't recommend this hotel at it's usual price either. The room I had looked over Darling Harbour, but it was nothing special, and the decor was like something styled in the 1980s. My main issue with it is that to walk back from Darling Harbour you have to go over a footbridge, and through a car park, which I didn't enjoy at 1am; it felt a bit unsafe. Overall, not worth the inflated price I paid, and not worth it's usual price either.
