dated but spacious

This place is a little out of the way but still located close to UTS buildings and facilities. The rooms are big but the overall place seems a little dated, circa late 70s or early 80s. The bed is comfy, the view limited and usually of the residential units across the road. There are restaurant facilities which I have never used, there is no wi-fi but the hotel offers net access via an alternative service.

Ideally located

In town for a sporting event on the Saturday morning, this hotel was perfectly situated for us to go for a walk for dinner as well as walk to and from the event the next day. The staff were friendly and helpful, particulary when I was having issues with remembering my credit card PIN!. The room was a good size and the parking was great value for money as we left the car parked from 6:50pm that night through until 4:15pm the next day . We would definitely stay here again.

Misleading information

One of the main reasons that I booked into this Hotel was because it advertises as having a restaurant. I had intended to be able to have a meal without having to go out after my 4 hour drive to Sydney. On arrival I was informed that the "restaurant" only served breakfast. This in my opinion is false advertising. A restaurant serves lunch and/or dinner. The information for this hotel should be that they serve breakfast only. When I asked where was somewhere close that I could get a meal the staff were not very friendly or helpful.

Inexpensive and quiet

Hotel and room could do with refurbishing however room was still kept very clean. The location is quiet and yet still handy to Darling Harbour/Pyrmont. The Deluxe King Plus room was large and came with secure undercover parking and buffet breakfast (which was cold as not much turnover). Room air con unit may have been broken as was not warming room up and with only a thin blanket and sheets and no other bedding I was cold. As it was late didn't try to get another blanket. Overall would stay again if needing a hotel in the Ultimo area as it was priced fairly.

Good location.

The hotel is clean if a little run down. Good location for the Power House Museum and Paddy's market. If I can get a good deal there again I'll stay because I only stay one night at a time when I'm late in Sydney for an event.

Aspired

I was given a fantastic deluxe room fitted with an extremely useful in-room safe. The décor was a bit faded, however EVERYTHING worked. The king size bed could have been improved upon by being truly king size and not two king size single beds joined together: as lying on the join was a bit disconcerting! One of the couch sofa beds threatened to collapse when I attempted to sit on it: but there was a very comfortable club chair and the other couch sofa bed was fine. Having the balcony was fantastic: as my room on the top floor afforded excellent views over the inner west of Sydney. The air conditioning was fantastic and the unit looked very new and worked flawlessly. The staff were outstanding and their local knowledge was exceptional: I acted on their recommendations more than once. I would highly recommend the Aspire Hotel in Ultimo as an excellent base to explore Sydney; especially because of its very close proximity to the CBD. Vincent Shepherd 29.3.2014
