Sydney Aquarium hotels
The Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is situated on the east shore of Darling Harbor, north of the Pymont Bridge, in the New South Wales capital, Sydney. The Aquarium offers an exhilarating journey through 14 themed zones on Australia’s freshwater and marine ecosystems. The Sydney Aquarium boasts about 13,000 amazing creatures such as huge sharks, big rays, dugongs, turtles, penguins, sea dragons and many more, from about 700 species. It was designed by Australian architects and officially launched in 1988 to offer aquatic life discoveries through New Shark walk, Discovery Rock pool, Dugong Island, South Coast Shipwreck, and much more.
- Visit Mangrove Swamp in Sydney Aquarium, a habitat for the sport fish Barramundi, and the Lungfish, the only fish with the prehistoric adaptation of breathing through lungs as well as the ability to venture about on land.
- Gather your nerve and take the Shark Walk in Shark Valley, from which you can view the world’s biggest tank sharks right here in Sydney, as they swim amongst rays, ruins, and even a giant whale skeleton.
- Discover the Tropical Bay of Rays, a Sydney favourite, which houses a dynamic population of Australian rays such as the speckled Leopard Whipray.
The bus is one of several efficient means of transport around the city of Sydney; to reach the Sydney Aquarium, hop off at Explorer Bus Stop No 24 or any line that stops near Market Street or King Street. Take a train at the City Circle Terminal to Central Station or Pyrmont Bay, or use the Metro Light Rail to Darling Harbor. The monorail will let you off at the Darling Park stop within walking distance of the Sydney Aquarium. Hop on a ferry from Circular Quay Wharf 5 to Darling Harbor and come ashore near the Aquarium’s front entrance.
