Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney
The breathtakingly gorgeous Royal Botanical Gardens are situated between the magnificent Harbour and the bustling business centre of Sydney, Australia, making them a welcome and quiet escape. A short jaunt on foot from the instantly recognisable Sydney Opera House and full of enjoyable activities for everyone, it is no surprise that the Royal Botanic Gardens have become a wildly popular holiday destination. Whether walking around the pond and gardens and enjoying the view or taking the Trackless Train Tour, there is something for everyone to see and do during a visit to the gardens whilst in Sydney.
- Enjoy the dozens of statues, including eight imported from Italy in 1883, situated throughout the Royal Botanic Gardens, many of which are on the City of Sydney’s Sculpture Walk.
- Have a delicious lunch at the Botanic Garden Restaurant, an open-air experience in a luxurious setting, before exploring the State Library of New South Wales.
- Enjoy the amazing architecture of the Pyramid Glass House, opened in 1972, joined by an underground foyer to “the Arc”, whilst touring the Sydney Tropical Centre.
The Royal Botanic Gardens are easily reached from anywhere in Sydney thanks to their centralized location and proximity to major venues like the Opera House. The nearest train stations are Martin Place and Circular Quay, just a short walk away. There are many bus routes that stop nearby, but the 441 stops directly at the Royal Botanic Gardens. If you have rented a car, there is both metred and uncovered parking nearby; but with so much public transportation, most visitors find it more convenient to take a bus or taxi than driving in this often congested part of Sydney.
