Playful Port Macquarie
The iconic seaside town of Port Macquarie continually reels in visitors to its pretty beaches, laid-back lifestyle and perfect weather. Why? Where should we – and you – start…?
The beach is probably the best place. Visit Town Beach for crowds and beachy buzz, Oxley Beach for shady, picnic-perfect spots and Rainbow Beach for a dog-friendly stretch of white sand. Once you’re tanned and terrific, you should check out some history. Head to the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum for over 100 years worth of maritime history and Lake Innes to investigate the ruins of Major Archibald Clunes Innes’ home from the 1800s. Lastly, don’t forget to check out theKoala Hospital. Not nearly as depressing as it sounds, this place is ideal for learning about our native cuddly cuties.
