Lets the Mercure name down

For anyone still trying to find this place, it's right next to Penrith Panthers. No visible signage and a vague address made it tricky to find. Don't be sucked in by the suave exterior and uppetty staff. A standard queen room gets you cobwebs, plywood furniture, a bathroom with cracks and peeling paint, and a TV without FTA digital channels. Essentially, a tolerable room with a bed and a view of a shed.

A few things need replacing

The last time I stayed here, I just booked the standard room so this time I paid extra to have the Deluxe King thinking about a bigger bed, larger room and better amenities. It had the King bed and included a little courtyard which was look upon by the whole hotel (ground floor, room 115) but that was about it for the extra money. It's an ok hotel but I do have a few complaints which I hope they'll take on-board, because it's the little things that count. The bed is a bit hard ... not just firm, but hard. I think the mattresses need replacing. The towels are scratchie. You expect soft and fluffy in a hotel so these also need replacing. The air conditioner is **noisy** ... so noisy. Fix these few things, and I think it will be worth the money to stay here.

Ordinary

It was New Years Eve so fully booked and expensive so not your usual weekend. They were accommodating in putting us in a room next door to our companions. They gave us a complimentary small bottle of champayne for New Years Eve which we appreciated. We took advantage of the pool, it is small and unimpressive but clean and cooling. The rooms are tired but clean and functional. The big advantage of course is it's proximity to Panthers Leagues club but there is not much else of interest in the area.

OK Hotel but nothing special

Booked an executive room but to be honest I didn't notice anything really executive about it. Pretty average hotel and not the cheapest either. The staff aren't exactly unfriendly but could do with raising a smile now and again. Internet charges just ridiculous!
