Amidst the bustle of an urban environment with smog and exhaust in the air, it may seem impossible to find adequate locations that boast attributes of peace, cleanliness, fun and excitement. However, not 100 kilometres from the city of Sydney is Leura, in the Blue Mountains of Australia that offers them all. Leura is well known for having well-preserved natural environments and gardens, and is considered a garden village. It is the ideal holiday site for a change of scenery and much needed relaxation. Whether for shopping, or soaking up the natural slow-paced atmosphere, there is something for everyone.
- Go for a walk in the Everglades Gardens, to enjoy some much-needed solitude and look at picturesque European scenery not found anywhere else in the Blue Mountains of Australia.
- Visit Leuralla’s NSW Toy and Railroad museum, a collector’s paradise, to see a wide array of collectible dolls and one-of-a-kind toy railroad trains.
- Visit the Leura Mall to shop for souvenirs and to find treasures from the Blue Mountains not likely to be found anywhere else in the world.
When planning a trip to Leura in the Blue Mountains of Australia, be certain to pack a few items for keeping warm such as a blanket or light jacket; summers are mild, and the temperatures at night can be cool. Most likely when travelling to Leura, you will arrive at Sydney. From there you can take the Great Western Highway, turning left onto Scott Avenue, and keeping straight ahead on the Railroad Parade. Do take a book to read whilst travelling, as the trip can take 96 minutes if going by car or 117 minutes by train.
