Adequate for needs

The location is ideal. The room was clean & spacious. The building however is very "tired" and could do with a bit of a refresh.

Allphones Arena support base

Across the road is the Pullman - an elegant looking building - and beside it is the Novatel - an extravagant tower. To us, the Ibis was the 'hidden jewel' - unpretentious, classy, clean, neat, super-comfortable, not much to see from the outside but offered all that we needed. We are both fit and active average-sized people, and the bathroom facilities were economic and appropriate. The bed was a King - luxury support and comfort. The breakfast was sizeable and well presented. We didn't have a car - night time parking was packed out, with people blocking the driveway. A Taxi rank is across the road. There's a nice little tourist shop inside and multiple takeaways surrounding the building. Have paid a little less for others the same quality, but still quite happy.

Perfect Concert Location

I went along to a concert and decided to indulge in a night at the Ibis. I was so glad that I did! The location was excellent and it was much more convenient to stay there than to try and go home late at night. The property was excellent and all the staff their knew we were there for a concert and they were excited to hear all about it. Great service.

Good location for ANZ stadium but that's it.

Booked here because it was adjacent to anz stadium. Arrived to check in and was told she couldn't find my booking, she questioned whether I had a legitimate booking, showed her the booking on my phone. Requested a king bed, was given a queen, asked to change it to a king or two singles but was told there was no room. Given complimentary breakfast as a result (which was good I will give them that). Went to room to find a tray of food (fried chips) laying outside our door. Entered the room and it smelt like chips. Tiny bathroom with towels way too close to the toilet bowl and lime scale. Stones throw from the stadium. Over priced.

Parking

We got a free room upgrade with a spa which was great but my issue is with parking. I had arranged a few weeks ago to leave my car at the hotel while we went to the show. We had entries in the show. I explained my husband's ability of not being able to walk very far so staying at the hotel very close to the showground was a great choice. I was told on the phone that the parking fee would be waived. I thanked the gentleman very much. I was willing to pay the $20 for the parking but he said not to worry about it and would make a note of it on our booking. When I went to check out, I informed the receptionist of the arrangement. I was told that no matter where I park my car I would have to pay. I was then told that it was $35 and not $20 as it was 'Valet Parking". I paid the $35 but was not happy about it. The receptionist never checked if it was an error, just that I had to pay the parking fee.

Non Event for the Ibis

We got upgraded to the Pullman across the road which was very good. The Ibis reception area was good and comfortable and the staff excellent while they arranged the upgrade. Both hotels are conveniently sited for railway/bus travel and within 3/4 minutes walk of the major facilities at the Park
