Great Hotel

The hotel was great but it is out of the city and away from many of the 'tourist' attractions. Kingston and Manuka are both walking distance for bars, restaurants and shops.

Some good points but never again

Room was mostly clean (some hair in the shower, and pots/pans were not super clean), and although seemingly well designed, the room had some flaws. The bedroom is separated from the rest of the apartment by a clear sliding door, which means that all the lights in the apartment need to be turned off for darkness in the bedroom. Not so great if only one of you wants to go to sleep. The bed was very hard, and although they do offer a mattress topper, it made the bed too hot, and didn't really improve its hardness. The a/c unit clicked most of the night and woke me and my wife several times. Only solution was to turn it off. By the third night, I was so looking forward to getting back to my own bed at home. They were decent enough to remove the $10 per day charge for parking, but IMHO this should be included anyway for guests, as should wi-fi, which they charge for after 100MB. Only memorable luxury was the shower, which had a great shower head, but the bathroom itself was not so private with semi-opaque glass doors with gaps.

Almost perfect

Fantastic location, everything is new and clean, big bathroom, good room size. The only downside is that we stayed in a room on Canberra Ave and there is not much insulation from the car noise. To make things worse, on Sunday the church across the street likes to ring its bells early, so if you've had a night out and are hoping to sleep in, you might want to ask for a room on the other side of the building. Otherwise a very pleasant hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Head up to the Griffith/Manuka shops for fantastic dining. There is an amazing modern Asian place called Bambusa there on Franklin st. They had a fantastic wine selection, food was amazing and the service was first class.
