Introduction

Step inside, come into the heart of snow, the warmth of its blue lap. Come alone, with someone special or with a group, there will be a soft and comfortable bed for you in one of the 15 Igloos in Saariselkä, the Heart of Lapland. A reindeer hide and a woolen rug will provide you excellent insulation against the snow and keep you warm. The padded sleeping sacks will keep you warm. The temperature surprisingly comfortable inside the igloos - between -3 and -6 degrees Celsius! After your night in igloo you'll feel so exhilarated you will want to take on the world!

Departure Dates: Daily - 1 December, 2004 to 30 April, 2005 Departure Point: Ivalo Airport Departure Time: Tour commences with transfer from Ivalo airport to Saariselka Return Details: Tour concludes with transfer from Saariselka to Ivalo airport Itinerary: Day 1: Saariselka Upon arriving at Ivalo Airport, transfer to Saariselkä, the traditional ski resort of Northern Lapland, where a white pure blanket of snow covers the Earth. Here you can experience the true spirit of Lapland at its best. Your snow adventure begins with a delicious dinner. Then it's off to your igloo for the night! Sleep well! Day 2: Reindeer Farm A sauna bath is a wonderful way to war up after a night in an igloo! Enjoy a hearty breakfast then partake in an exciting snowmobile tour to the untouched Lappish wilderness. Enjoy the ride through the vast snow-covered landscape! On the way visit a reindeer farm and receive your reindeer driving license. First a professional reindeer herder demonstrates how to handle this animal in front of your sledge. Then, you can try this on your own! You will find the animal sympathetic - although some self-willed. Enjoy lunch at the reindeer farm, before travelling to your accommodation for the night - a log cabin! (This log cabin is part of hotel Kakslauttanen). A sauna bath will relax you before the dinner is served at the hotel restaurant. Day 3: Husky Farm After breakfast, visit the local husky farm. Continue the safari on a Husky sledge and stop on the way for a typical Lappish lunch! Travel back to your hotel for a tasty dinner and overnight. Day 4: Conclusion After breakfast, transfer to the airport where your tour concludes.
