A gorgeous tour through the wilderness… This day begins at Hotel Lapland, Lycksele Airport or Ansia Adventure Camp and your tour leaders will meet up with warm clothes, boots and a team of 10-14 dogs. As a guest you will enjoy the professional guides who will take good care of you in every possible way.
After you have taken place on the sledges, the tour can start. As a guest you just sit on the sledges, maximum 3 people on each sledge, and simply enjoy the vast expanses of this gorgeous landscape that you will journey through. Because you are travelling so quietly, there's some great opportunities to spot elks/moose, reindeers or other Swedish wild animals. After approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of mushing you will reach the lunch-stop which will be served either indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather and cold. After lunch continue the tour over lakes, through forests and frozen wetlands. The light, the colors, the fresh air and the silent are something you have to experience in person. It can't be explained in words. After 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) of mushing you will reach the goal for today, the wilderness camp in Ekorrsele. Upon arrival arrive to the kennel let the dogs into their pens and walk to the sauna and the hot tubs. After 1 hour in the sauna and the hot tub with a water temperature up to 43 degrees Celsius, it will feels like heaven! After this refreshing bath it's time for dinner in the timber-lodge at the camp. A smoked salmon with mashed potatoes, hollandaise with black caviar will be the perfect end to a perfect day. The following day you will be transferred back to Lycksele by car or bus. Please note, on Day 2 you can choose to take a ride on snowmobiles. | ||
