What are the best things to shop for in Bali? Shop for the Indonesian textile batik, silver, leather crafts, baskets, cloth, porcelain, tin art objects, wood, ikat, masks, coffee, tea and honey. Be prepared to bargain for everything! Start low and expect to meet the seller at least halfway. Yogyakarta: leather crafts and handbags made of plant fibers, silver, batiks, and wayang kulit puppets. Irian Jaya: wood carvings. Surabaya: Ikat weavings and batik.

Don’t assume that activities operators are looking out for your well-being. Travellers have died with the sports activities operators in Tanjung Benoa and dive mishaps occur everywhere. The iconic volcanoes claim trekkers, especially Gunung Rinjani on Lombok. The moral: keep a healthy scepticism an average of you if others bear responsibility for your safety.
