Holy Land: America’s Biggest Christian Park

If you liked the idea of all your favorite Disney characters in one giant theme park, then you might enjoy another similar fun land with the world’s most popular Biblical characters – it’s the Holy Land in Orlando, Florida! You are taken back to the ancient times where you can see and talk to Jesus and see scenes enacted from the Bible.  If you’re a believer or you just want to see how far someone will go with an amusement park, you should not miss this!

The Holy Land does not offer accommodation of any kind, so if you want to experience this amusement park, the closest accommodation options you have, are the hotels in Orlando. The park is located off Interstate 4, at Exit 78, at the corner of Conroy and Vineland Roads and it is open six days a week, from Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The Holy Land is unlike other American amusement parks so don’t expect to go on rides. Holy Land is actually an open air museum that will take you 7000 miles away and roughly 2000 years back to the events that took place in the Bible. Hundreds of actors, a unique combination of sounds, lights and tastes will offer you a one of a kind perspective on the stories you know from the Bible.

The park hosts a library and a research center with several thousands of manuscripts and religious artifacts called The Scriptorium. There are exhibits and displays of several key documents, so that the guest can understand the history of the Bible and its influence on human civilization. Other impressive attractions include the world’s largest indoor model of the city of Jerusalem in the year of 66 AD,  a full scale Jerusalem market, where you can interact with merchants and buy different things like sodas (no kidding!), the praying Gardens of Gethsemane and numerous shows depicting the life of Jesus.

Whether you’re Christian or not, this amusement park doesn’t offer typical entertainment like the County Fair but visiting the Holy Land will sure be a memorable experience for all Christians.

I appreciate you sharing this excellent information with us! If by chance you or your readers do get a chance to go to the Holy Land – I wanted to share with you a new service I have found in my planning – HolyLandBus.com. Apparently this is a new hop on -hop off bus service led by educated guides, and seems like it would be a useful & convenient way to tour the Holy Land.
