A Day In The Life of Pippa Middleton

When Kate Middleton’s spunky, vivacious sister showed up to the big Royal Wedding in a smashing, head-turning, clingy white bridesmaid dress by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen (who, as our fashionista readers undoubtedly know, also designed the bridal gown), she instantly shot to the top of the Google (Images) search charts.

Pippa Middleton represents the blithe, fashionable, moneyed spirit of a particular class of London lass. One with the word “socialite” and “public relations” perpetually attached to her name. One who spent her formative years in Berkshire. One who happens to be an alum of modish Marlborough College. One with a banker/ex-cricketer boyfriend and a string of trust fund aristocrats as exes. One, perhaps most tellingly, with the name Pippa.

You get the point. Here’s a look at the most famous sister’s fave, branché London hangouts, in a little segment we like to call “A Day In The Life of Pippa Middleton”.

The Beach Bar at The Goring

Party Pippa-style under the regal loom of Buckingham Palace at the Carib-chic Beach Bar at The Goring. From the driftwood bar to every grain of carefully-placed sand, the drinkery is a flawless, faux-casual re-creation of Basil’s Bar on the Grenadines celebrity island of Mustique. Hope for a nice summer in the English capital – the bar will close up in September.

Why serve and volley on the court when you can serve notice courtside that you still belong at the top of the Tatler social tree with the likes of Pixie Geldof and Alice Dellal? The early exit of six-time champ Roger Federer was humdrum news next to Pippa’s recent appearance at The Championships with beaux Alex Loudon, alongside the likes of Vogue editor Anna Wintour and F1 star Lewis Hamilton. The red Hobbs number she wore for the match is already out of stock.

Stay at the ace Athenaeum Hotel London.

It may surprise you to know that Middleton sisters like to shop, on occasion. Pippa is particularly fond of Modalu handbags. So much so, in fact, that the company’s site search tagline is – no joke – “As seen on Pippa Middleton London leather shoulder bags, tote and clutch handbags and purses.” Now that, my friends, is some crack, on-point SEO. A key Modalu stockist pimps Pippa purses at 36 Thayer Street in Marylebone.

Another key Marylebone spot? The Landmark Hotel London.

Kings Road

The KR is a hot Chelsea artery if you want to roll like the Duchess of Cambridge sib. The posh West London thoroughfare is a major stakeout strip for the tabs and paps lurk in wait to, inevitably, capture Pippa on a spree. To do likewise, get off the Sloane Square tube and hit up usual Kings Road suspects like the Saatchi Gallery, Bluebird restaurant and bar, Marco Pierre White and the Raffles bar. Oh yes, and the shops.

The Beaufort Hotel London was a HotelClub.com “Best for Shopaholics” finalist for a reason.

Boujis is a South Kensington “exclusive private members club” where you can “belong” – as the website exhorts – with the endorsement of two current members. Presumably, this was not a problem for Pippa, who apparently likes the place.

The Rockwell Hotel London will get you close to the velvet rope.
