The resort is right in the middle of hip shopping area of Chiang Mai but well hidden. There are lots of trees and the buildings and interiors are mainly made of wood. Very beautiful. We love the place very much. For location, it's perfect for us since our main business of this trip is at CMU (Chiang Mai University). But for those who has never been to Chiang Mai and would like to explore the old town, this place is far. There are tons of cute little places in the old town area. Front desk staff are okay. They can do basic things. There are two computers with internet for guests free of charge in the lobby but mosquitoes are their serious problem.

nice layout with traditional buildings of wood; good ambience and an intimate hotel away from centre of town so a good place to relax and chill away from the noise and traffic. A hotel shuttle would have been useful to get into center of town. Expensive hotel car to the airport - hotel unhelpful if you choose not to use their transportation! So you are left with little choice. Reservations abit muddled - did not get our details are requested (they forgot our breakfast bookings and room requirements). Otherwise not staff friendly.

The yantarasiri entrance is tucked away between two large hotels and at the moment of entering it you can feel the vibe of the place. It is beautifully done using the clasisc thai style architecture with lots of solid wooden structures and a pool with little elephant fountains on the side. The rooms were large enough and contined the classic theme inside. The loose pebbles in the bathroom were a very nice touch indeed. Breakfast buffet was good with a choice between western and asian breakfast. All in all my girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here.

It is a well designed traditional hotel with a centralized pool area. However, the closeness of the hotel structure to the pool can lead to a quite noisy environment.
