Wyndham New Yorker Hotel

As expected, staff helpful when requested but nothing special. Rooms clean and adequate but very small. Price okay for NYC but expensive for anywhere else. But a fantastic location which is what it is all about in new York!!

An average hotel in prefect location a stone's throw from Penn station. Functional is the term I would use here no frills, the kind of place that gets a lot of conventions (hence the 40 min check in queue). Acceptable for staying 3 days max, and if the price is less than $200/night good value. Typically tiny NYC hotel rooms so if traveling with children you would need to upgrade or have them their own room. Not part of the Ramada chain

Had a great 50% off deal with e-bookers which made it a good value visit to New York in a great location. We had a New Yorker Suite and the bedrooms were clean, with large comfy beds and pillows. No bedbugs or other creepy crawlies. Bathroom was compact and average. The adjoining 'lounge' was huge with a large dining table and 6 chairs, sofa, writing desk and fridge. Tv and stand. We were on 22nd floor in room 2249 and it had a terrace on two sides of our rooms. The view was of the Chrysler building - lovely at night. Unfortunately, the door to the terrace was ill-fitting and a dreadful draft blew through the lounge. Luckily there was a door to the bathroom and bedroom so we were ok - but we didn't use the lounge because it was so cold - despite the hot air heating. Staff were fine (not exactly friendly) but efficient. The location was great - we flew into Newark and within an hour of leaving the airport we were in our room. We used the NJ Rail transit which cost $12.50 per adult each way. One block from Madison Square Gardens, one block from Macey's, 4 blocks from Empire State Building. A 15 minute walk to Times Square and Broadway.

The hotel was clean, and the location is very convenient. However the room was small, and the bathroom was cramped, without even a small table or vanity. We've found better bathrooms at chain motels.

The New Yorker Hotel was extremely clean, updated with a classic charm and has the best location in the city for the price point.

The hotel is situated quite close to times square. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating to our needs and allowed us to check in quite early. The room was small as was the bathroom. The room did not have a fridge or a safe. However, it was comfortable.

This hotel is clean, the room was warm, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. We upgraded to a view room which was outstanding! The location is close to major attractions by a short walk or short taxi ride if weather is bad. The gift shop had the best prices on souvineers I had seen. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Could have used a little more shelf room in the bathroom, but overall we would definitely stay again!

This is the second time I have stayed there, and I love the hotel. The bed is very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is great. This is an older hotel so the rooms are shaped in strange ways. It's also very convenient to Penn Station and Port Authority. The only negative I had this trip was that on my first trip I had a better view. Some day I'll get the room with the balcony.

Friendly staff greeted me upon arrival. The concierge was helpful and remembered me when I went back with another question. The room was small - but this is New York! The size is ok for 1 person or 2 people without a lot of luggage. A family wouldn't be happy in the room I had. The heat was adjustable to the room so I was toasty warm. Location for a tourist is great: its above the subway, near Penn Station, down the street from the Empire State Building. There's also a tasty 24 hour diner down the street. I would definitely stay here again.

The Hotel New Yorker was in a perfect location for our needs. A short walk to the theater district and a $9.00 taxi ride to Soho. The room was clean but very small, which was not a problem because we were only there to sleep. And I must say, the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It was perfect for a Saturday night in Manhattan. I would stay here again.

I stay at the New Yorker for work. I work the trade show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. The New Yorker is the perfect location! Close to restaurants, Times Square, the subway is RIGHT THERE, Madison Square Garden is literally across the street, and of course the the Javits Center is about 4 blocks away! The rooms are really only suitable for one person, but they have free internet, (super bonus), and all of the rooms are updated and have great views! Staff is very friendly and the security is great! Only guests allowed on the elevators. Definitely recommended!

My daughter stayed at your hotel on Monday & Tuesday July 18th & 19th. When I made the original reservation I made it for Monday and then something fell through so I added Tuesday night. I was told she was going to go to a new room called the Metro room which a large increase from Monday night. However, she stayed in the same room which was not the metro room and I feel I was told a lie and paid for the metro room. I called [...] to confirm this room and was told that is why there was an increase in price, and that my daughter will have to move to this room. I feel that I was definitely over charged for a room that my daughter did not stay in when I was told that she was going to have to move to another room. I would like clarification on this matter as I did call to confirm the reasons for a more expensive room.thank you Laurene GOnsalves-UHlberg

Great hotel, great location. We were there to see the city and the New Yorker is great for that! Friendly staff, nice room and decent view. The only negatives were it was near a restaurant and being in the summer it was quite stinky when you stepped outside and the bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner.

This hotel as been improved but not to a level that is impressive. The new - though less than impressive furniture does not over ride the mildew on the tiles in the bathroom. It was not severe but could have been kept nicer. The bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable. While there was one quite friendly lady at the registration desk, the rest of the staff were more stonefaced than welcoming - smiles were very rare.
