Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino Guest Reviews
Hotel was nice, a lot of amenities. Not close to paradise island, but you can take the bus for a 1.25 which will take you downtown. Then a $6 or $8 ferry ride to the island. There is always the cab ride. Hotel is connected to the casino and Sheraton. You have all the amenities of both hotels. Sheraton has the better gym and the non-motorized water sports. You have to pay a $38 dollar a day resort fee. We enjoyed our stay, they have a live band that plays everything nightly.

If I had never been to another resort, I may have thought this was more than mediocre. The most frustrating piece was that the resort was just half open. They are building a mega resort that should be complete in 2014 so in 2 short years this resort will be demolished. What use to be 6 towers has been condensed to 2 with only one front desk. The casino ( main) entrance is not enclosed so the aroma of stale smoke greets you. With every pass to the elevator, you have sale reps attempting to sign you up for an excursion. The 6 restaurants serve the same food.. some on plates, some wrapped to go, and very average. I think as accomadation change it should be reflective in print so when your booking you know what your getting. The asian restaurant is non existent and the 5000 square foot ocean view gym is compacted into a glass slide store front. I felt that information was not readily available and for an area that is dependent on tourism.. the love for the tourist is missing. All in all.. we were in an area of paradise so why should I really complain??

Unfortunately the reviews & the hotel description mentioned nothing about how the Wyndham was only half in use. Apparently the hotel is in the works of being knocked down & a mega resort will be built in the next few years. This means that the upkeep & the pictures are far from what it really looks like. There was no information that the only towers in use where the one with the casino (there are over 3 towers), so it was full of smoke & gross to have to access most things from that tower. Usually casinos are in their own room but this was open to the hotel as well as a few of the restaurants. I am very disappointed with the lack of information available about these hiccups which ruined my time a bit, especially because I needed to ask to be moved to a room where I wasn't exposed to the smoking. The only good thing was it was out of downtown Nassau, which made it more private & away from the hussle & bussle of the cruise ships. But all in all, I am disappointed. Luckily the weather made up for it.
