The hotel was wonderful. The location couldn't have been more convenient. The people behind the desk gave great restaurant and night out recommendations. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a great view. We will be returning there this summer.

Hotel 71's location is hard to beat, and their staff is super friendly. Our stay, however, was not the best. Our room was located directly across from the elevator, making it loud and obnoxious on New Year's eve. The room was about 50 degrees when we arrived, and the outlet in the bathroom and next to the bed did not work. We were told valet parking was $50 (ouch) but they charged me $80 on my credit card (double ouch). We booked a "cityview" king, which gave us a lovely view of an alley and fire escapes.

An outstanding experience. Super location, clean room, very comfortable. Large bathroom. Room newly remodeled. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We would return in an instant. Free internet was a plus in the city.

Hotel 71 It would have been nice to know of the activities being held at the hotel that night upon check in. When I booked the room. I booked a deluxe king with a city view. The room was nice and very comfortable. The view was of the alley. Not very happy about that. I will difinitely ask about that next time. The in house restaurant Hoyt's was very nice. Food and service very good. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would book agian (with a different view)

Fantastic views, if you get a river side room. Fantastic, I can not even begin to describe looking out over the city and looking down the river at all the bridges right below our room. The only complaint I had with the room, and I had read this in other reviews before I booked is that the hallways could be noisy if and only if, some drunk, loud, obnoxious people come home after the bars close and talk loudly all the way down the hall.

Friendly, courteous staff. Everyone was helpful and quick to respond to any of our requests. Spacious room on 37th floor, with fantastic view of river and skyline. The location couldn't have been better. We were within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Navy Pier, and our favorite seafood and deep dish pizza establishments. While they only have valet parking, you have unlimited access to your vehicle which is a BIG perk in Chicago.

The hotel is in the center of everything... The rooms are very big and clean. There is a resturant right down stairs and they even offer room service. I am planning on going back with my kids next year and am planning on staying at this hotel again!

The hotel 71 was great. The views of the river and city were impeccable. The service was top notch and very accommodating. The room was well appointed, spacious and the location of the hotel was right in the heart of everything I wanted or needed to do. It is close to the Willis Tower, river tours, bus lines, Michigan Ave shopping, nightlife and restaurants. I can't wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with our 11-month old son. We were in town for a wedding and wanted to do some sightseeing too. The hotel is in walking distance to Millenium Park and the Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier. The hotel was very helpful with our baby. They provided a mini-fridge and crib on request. The crib was a pack-and-play that was clean and new-looking and came with clean sheets to cover the bottom pad which was nice. Also, the restaurant in the hotel has a great kids menu. My son loves grilled cheese which was not on the menu but the chef made one for him anyway. Our room overlooked the Chicago River and there is a nice walkway along the river right below the hotel. The hotel is a great location if you want to be close to both shopping and Millineum Park and Navy Pier. There is also a lot of shopping and restaurants right by the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and very accomodating when we had a problem (for example the wireless internet was slow and they re-booted the modem for our floor immediately and the problem was solved). Another plus is that they have FREE wi-fi and FREE business center with printing capabilities in the lobby. My husband had to do some work during our trip and it was nice to not have to pay to print a few things. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Chicago. Great location, great staff, great food, great trip!

Location is great and the view is spectacular. Check in and out was smooth. Room decor seemed a little eclectic. Water was only lukewarm, not hot, both at night and in the morning. We had everything we needed except no washcloths, and I didn't want to bother calling the front desk and waiting for them. No comment sheet in the room, but I left a note.

My daughter & I visited Chicago for the first time November '07 I have to say Hotel 71 was very centeral & we had no trouble at getting buses or taxi's when we needed them. Night time was safe for us to walk. All hotel staff were brilliant, friendly & helpful. Hotel was busy but very quite at night. I would stay there again any time I will go back.

Excellent location in Chicago. There were four of us ladies in the room and it was spacious and perfect for our needs. Only down side there was no official bar. To relax in a comfortable bar after returning to the hotel would have been great. Would recommend staying here to anyone.

Hotel 71 is in a great location; just blocks away from the Magnificent Mile and Millennium Park. We had a view of the river and the downtown area... the view was goregous at night time. The room was really nice, comfortable, and stylish. I would definitely stay there again.
