Can be very hard to find, my taxi got lost and had no idea until he called the hotel, but once you know where it is, its very convenient with the subway just moments away around the corner. Its a bit away from the centre of Nanjing Road but its a good place to start your walk down towards the Bund and take a day to explore the shops along the way. The room was quite big and tidy, it was during the Expo so a bit expensive but the prices have now come down and are reasonable. A word of caution, for some reason when I paid by credit card (upon checkin, not checkout!) I got billed in my home currency not RMB, which meant I got a bad exchange rate. They did their best to find out why it happened and even went to the back (downstairs) with me, after no one knew the reason they happily refunded the difference, so really good and helpful service.

the hotel was FILTHY, when we first got into the room it stinked, there was dust every where, the bathroom had a stomach turning smell and there was mold all over, the stove was in a very filthy shape, there was water leakage on the wall which left a huge stain, the bed sheets were not only yellowish and dirty but there was a blood stain on it as well, the window was broken and was covered with some nylon which was torned as well, we asked for the room to be changed and they moved us to a room which was not any better , we spent one night of hell there, then on morning we told them again how bad it was and they moved us to a bigger room, which did not smell but wasn’t clean, the first thing we saw there was a huge cockroach, the water had a funny smell too , it smelled like rust, and one night there was very dirty brownish water coming out from the pipes. I'm not sure how r prices in shanghai but I got 4 stars hotels in Beijing and Xi'an for less than the amount I paid to them.
