Wolcott Hotel New York

We had a junior suite (2 rooms, 1 queen and 1 sofa bed) which had plenty of space for 3 people. Hotel lobby was charming and free muffin/coffee for breafkast was a nice gesture, but hotel has issues. Room was very noisy despite overlooking a quiet street, and we could hear sirens and street noises as if we were outside. Plus the old heating system made a lot of strange noises all night. Temperature was hard to adjust and room was very hot. However you cannot beat the price and location.

this old charm botique hotel had everything we needed and its location meant we could walk to most places. we had a junior suite which is luxuriously roomy for New York standards

Outr room was a mini suite which looked out on to the lightwell which made it dark during the day but it was quiet and we slept well. It is a short walk up Broadway to Times Square and just around the corner to the Empire State Building. The ice machine is in the basement. The coffee and muffins in the lobby in the morning were a nice treat.

My best friend and i had finally decided to go on the girls trip of a lifetime to the big apple! NYC! The location map on the website to get to the hotel was fine, although the walk was a little further than we anticipated from the metro stop. The hotel is located in a great spot and once you walk in you will notice the 1920s style decoration (which is legit) its very cool! The room was basic, but all we needed, this was a great price to pay for the position we were in. The walk to the metro to get anywhere in the city took less than 5 minutes. Not to mention, 10 min walk from Times Square The muffins, coffee and tea in the morning were given to guests complimentary which is nice if your off to explore the day in a rush. The only thing i wasnt so pleased about was the crazy price of the internet, 10 dollars for 1 hour and 24 dollars for 24- i didnt bother. Although NYC has expensive internet anywhere, unless you get onto wifi. The staffr were friendly and can reccommend this hotel to anyone who needs a clean place to stay with close proximity to the all exciting New York!

In Hotel Wolcott's favor, they did let us check in several hours early, free of charge. This was a lifesaver as my wife and I and just gotten into town on the redeye and felt terrible. However, everything else was either mediocre or just plain annoying. Reasonably close to the subway. Nothing in the bathroom worked well. The wifi was overpriced and only usable on one device and one location. The bed was extremely hard. No thermostat controls. Windows in our 12th floor room opened easily and had no screens. Only one nightstand. There were three electrical sockets in the bedroom, two of which were inaccessible and the other was as far from the nightstands/desk as it could get. We'll be trying someplace else next time.

The Hotel location is ideal for business people but the staff are not friendly/helpful and have very little time to listen to customers. I did not like the hotel as my room was not what I requested for and when I enquired, the response was not encouraging and I let it stay. Cannot be a repeat customer nor recommend the hotel to any one. No meals offered at the Hotel or at least we were not told of the existence of such facilities.

The Wolcott is a beautiful, historic hotel that is updated and well-kept. The lobby is beautiful. Our room was very clean and spacious for NYC. We liked the option of three twin sized beds for a group of 3. The check-in/out was very smooth and easy. Our luggage was stored on the last day at no cost. There were delicious muffins, coffee, and tea served each morning in the lobby. The hotel location is great....close to subway, Herald Square, Empire State Building. Our price was great especially for a holiday weekend. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Old style hotel. Nicely maintained. Impressive and beautiful lobby. Room was very small but had high ceiling. Clean. Room was too warm so we slept with windows open which meant sirens and honking horns all night. Morning coffee and muffins in the lobby. However, served skim milk only for coffee, which made it undrinkable for us. What makes this hotel is its location. In midtown, off 5th Avenue, between the Empire State and Flatiron buildings. Not a bad experience but not good enough to seek this hotel specifically next time.

4 night stay for sightseeing, ideal location almost under the empire state building, short walk to times square, Rockefeller plaza etc. Small but clean comfortable rooms, free coffee and muffins at breakfast time. Not so good were shower ( hard to get right temp long enough to get a shower, but we were on 12th floor) and banging from central heating. Overall would recommend

Dated hotel was charming. That said, the room near the elevator is smaller than the other rooms on the floor. Bathroom sink was the tiniest I've ever seen; difficult to use. Water temp. in shower hard to control (either boiling hot or fridged cold.). Maids were friendly. Front desk staff never asked how my room was; seems they do not care. The breakfast was charming.......get there early to avoid the crowds. Hotel centrally located. Easy walk to everywhere.

You can't beat the location of this hotel--it's just around the corner from the Empire State Building, and it's within walking distance of Times Square. I found the location to be particularly convenient due to its proximity to so many subway stations. Can't beat it for the price. We've stayed at the Wolcott before, and we'll stay there again.

Very close to Empire State Building. Long walk to Times Square. Safe neighborhood - felt comfortable as lone female walking around at night. Annoyed that had to pay extra for internet to work in room. Co-worker's room didn't even have a desk - had to work on the bed! Nice to have muffins and coffee in the morning, but everyone sat around in the regular lobby chairs balancing plates and cups on their laps trying to eat - would be nice to have an actual eating area with tables, or at least more coffee/end tables. Room decor rather tired and worn, window sill tile grout in shower had black mildew. Teeny slow elevators. Staff didn't seem very happy to be there at all. But overall everything just OK for the price.
