Windsor Hotel New York
2 out of 5

Except for traveling in Europe, this has to be the smallest hotel room I have stayed in. Had a double and single in the room because if they put a queen in you wouldnt be able to walk on either end. Place was clean, and relatively safe (should have buzzer on front door to protect the clerk) but on the edge of China town, which is not the greatest neighborhood. And at $225/night at a discount rate - not great - just happened to be a busy weekend where other hotels were booked or very high rates - if you have other options, take it.

Very small room, beat up furniture and drapes, mold in bath tub. Just two towels, no washclothes or hand towels. Nice TV, staff pleasant. Location is good for access to subway, Chinatown and remains of Little Italy

I understand prices are all-around very high in NY, and I did appreciate the incredible discount provided by booking online! However, for student international travelers, I believe it is still too much money! Please consider dropping costs. Facilities were ok, being as there was no fresh coffee or tea as advertised by the front desk. However, I was VERY pleased with the basic amenities provided by the hotel, including clean rooms and free internet.

Located in Chinatown. Just steps from Subway. Clean, fairly spacious rooms. Staff pleasant & helpful. We had no hot water in our shower so we were immediately upgraded to a bigger room. Good price for budget minded traveler in NY.

At about $200 after taxes, this is a great bargain for NYC. You can find cheaper digs in Manhattan but not this nice. And a so-called "name" hotel will set you back twice that and won't really be any more comfortable for me than the Windsor. Rooms are large enough and very clean, not always a given in New York. Staff is friendly - hotel is in the heart of Chinatown but not the noisy part. There's a park across the street.

The whole hotel is smoking, so if the smell of cigarettes bothers you, don't stay at the Windsor.

My only complaint was that every room stank of cigarette smoke and it was impossible to get rid of it.

As a native New Yorker returning for a visit I think this is a good hotel choice. The facilities were small and clean. The price was very inexpensive because of the location. This hotel is not in a tourist area of NY, but it offers a true look at the great diversity and life in NY. This is a good opportunity to experience China Town and Little Italy. Just blocks away you can shop and eat. For a good walk, you can walk from China town to the village. Subways and taxis are available to get you anywhere in the city. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a safe, clean no frills hotel.

Close to public transport, which makes it convenient to whereever you want to go. Being in Chinatown area means food is cheaper so you can save money. I was happy with my stay there.
