There was some trash on the floor by the bed that should have been picked up. The hotel is older and could use some renovating but the price and location were right for us. The waffles and biscuits and gravy were nice for breakfast. We would have enjoyed some sort of hot eggs and fresh fruit but there wasn't any. The breakfast area was congested. The employee filling things up blocked access to the food quite often. Flavored tea bags would have been enjoyed but there weren't any. The lemonade at check in was nice. The Internet and the literature in the room said cookies would be at the front desk at check in and there would be a reception in the evenings but both have been discontinued.

The Windemere is an older Hotel that has pluses and minuses. On the plus side, the landscaping is lush and tropical poolside and around the units. It did not feel like dry desert Mesa at all. The pool was unique and large with a jacuzzi; great to hang out at and great for the kids. Rooms were very good, having been updated with nicer furniture and comfortable beds. Though an older hotel, no complaints. What was missing was wifi for rooms which is hard to believe for a conference center. We were also in a room next to their conference center where a wedding reception ran well into the night and the room was not soundproof. Definitely make sure to request a room away from that area. Since no decent restaurants are in the immediate area, highly recommend the 10 minute drive south on Higley to Rancho de Tia Rosa. Best food ever! It made our stay well beyond what it would have been otherwise.

The staff had accidentally booked us for a stay a month prior to our actual stay (even though I had the confirmation in hand stating my arrival and departure dates) so they had no idea we were coming. They later told me their fax machine hadn't worked for awhile so they'd lost some reservations... The room smelled, the walls so thin you could hear EVERYTHING going on in the rooms around you. A drill sgt. woke us up at 6am on a Sunday morning barking orders at his crew in a nearby field (which we could also hear clearly). We left our stay early and switched hotels it was so bad.

This hotel has a huge empty lot behind it, so was nice and quiet! Lovely conference center and great people to help! Breakfast is basically all carbs, but enjoyed the hot tea!
