A superb location, pleasing service and fabulous accommodation make the Wellington Hotel a most favourable holiday destination in the vibrant city of Madrid.

Location
Situated at 8 Velazquez, in the stately Salamanca Neighbourhood, the Wellington Hotel is close to numerous fashion boutiques and antique shops throughout Madrid's most emblematic streets such as Serrano, Ortega y Gasset and Velazquez are in the vicinity of the property. The property's location is also ideal considering it is within the Art Triangle, an area of Madrid where the most notable museums, such as the Prado, the Thyssen and the Centre of Art Reina Sofia, are located.

Rooms
Decorated with a classic style, all 261 rooms feature an elegant and cosy atmosphere as well as majestic high ceilings, a lasting reminder of last century's architecture.

Restaurant
The large gastronomic selection has converted this hotel into a bastion within Madrid's restaurant industry, where guests can choose between the seasonal, avant-garde Basque cuisine of Goizeko Wellington and the fashionable Japanese cuisine of Kabuki Wellington. Guests can also relax at the cafe with light snacks and take a sip of their favourite beverages.

General
The property offers 12 event rooms that can host a variety of events such as meetings, banquets and weddings. At leisure, enjoy a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or revitalise your senses at the jacuzzi.

Wellington Hotel Madrid
4.6 out of 5

Service was friendly and very enthusiastic. Our only problem was use of the hotel Internet system although we were directed to a (slightly more expensive) outside system. To be able to make coffee in the room would have been good. Otherwise excellent. I would stay again.

Classic hotel not far from the old city. Only 20 minutes walk. There was no air conditioning in my room on the 6th floor. Few and small elevators. Nice room with a very good bathroom and seperate toilet with bidet.

This is a beautiful old hotel in a most convenient location. The buffet breakfast is outstanding, as is the "English" bar and the outdoor pool. Our room faced the street, but the sound-proofing was excellent.

The hardest mattress of any bed of any hotel in the World.I travel extensively in 4 /5 star hotels and although i have stayed at the Wellington before i always assumed the mattresss problem was my bad luck but every stay its so hard.I will NOT be staying there again. That aside, for lovers of old world glamour please stay there and solve your bad back at the same time .Or as in my case sleepless night.

This hotel was what a 5-star hotel should be. The rooms were amazing and immaculate. The service was very impressive and the staff were very happy to attend to our needs. The breakfast buffet was very tasty. It was located in a very nice part of the city that was easily accessible by bus, metro and taxi. On planning my next trip to Madrid, I hope this hotel is offering rooms at a discount price!

I would definitely recommend the hotel. Not only was the location terrific, but the ambience and the staff help were consistently positive. The only problem we had was that one elevator kept breaking down.

The Wellington is located in an upscale residential-shopping district and is a perfect location for visitors to Madrid. The Prado and Retiro Park are nearby and within walking distance. Restaurants, shopping and banks are nearby.

An excellent hotel for the price we paid. Location was excellent - just outside of the city centre itself. Hotel rooms were lovely and the bathroom especially so. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was 'something else'. We would definitely return to this hotel.

The Wellington its a Class by it self! Though the hotel is old, its well kept and distinguishily appoiinted. Service was excellent and they treated us as if we were paying top prices, though we paid a real bargain rate thanks to Hotel Club. We will be staying at the Wellington avery time we travel to Madrid
