This is my second stay at Wellesley Boutique Hotel and having discovered it I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The staff are just wonderful, nothing too much trouble. The rooms are perfect........comfortable beds, even a pillow menu. The bathroom, wow, gorgeous black & white, double basins, claw foot lovely deep bath with separate shower, quiet location. Then there's the lounge with a beautiful open fire place, the only disappointment was that I visited in Summer. The dining room is lovely and has a small but very good menu, don't go past the slow roasted duck leg. There is also inexpensive parking directly opposite. Would I stay again and would I recommend, have done both and happy to do so.

This is a charming and historic hotel, with only a small amount of rooms. A period building built in 1881 as a Gentlemans club that has been restored, and returned to its former glory with nice decor, pictures, furniture even down to the old elevator with the 'scissors' gated doors. The dining restaurant is not open every evening, but the nearby wharf area has plenty to choose from. I didn't have a car so unaware of the parking options, except the parking wardens kept me entertained during breakfast booking all the cars out front ! Definately a great place top stay.

There on a business trip, and their 'free internet' is limited to 50MB. Sorry guys - but that's not free internet - I burned through that in about 20 minutes downloading my email from the day. The room was nice, location fine, staff lovely. But didn't like it from a business perspective as one of the few things that I really require when travelling is a strong decent internet connection - and if I'd have used their connection I probably would've racked up $200 worth of charges. Ended up walking around the city until I found somewhere that was $20 for 24 hours and sitting on the street to do my work :\

Excellent service. Arrived very late from Oz and Night Manager couldn't have been more welcoming and helpfull. Room was well equipped and spotlessly clean and well maintained. Building exudes heritage charm.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The bed was good quality and very comfortable, the room was clean and had everything. (Except a plug for the kettle, had to use the bathroom plug!) We also enjoyed a lovely meal at the restaurant, Maginnitys.

My partner and I stayed at the Wellesley for one night before we flew home to Australia. The gentleman at reception was beyond helpful, nothing was too much trouble. He had worked both the morning and graveyard shifts, but his didn't affect his enthusiasm and charm. The rooms have that old world charm that beats a new and modern hotel any day in my book. I would definitely stay again.

Excellent hotel, different to the normal modern hotels which are all the same. Has style and flair. All the rooms are different and all very tastefully decorated. Bathrooms are fantastic and every last detail taken care of. Hasn't got the normal gym facilities etc but we didn't want them. Located central in the CBD and was close to the waterfront. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend it.

I like the old world charm of the hotel but they are in the middle of remodelling and it smells like it. There is no parking with the hotel so you need to take your chances with the parking officers if you get in late at night. The rooms at the front are very noisy early on due to the number of trucks in the street and I did have a communicationproblem when the night staff didn't relay my late check out request to the morning staff. Good location though. Would consider it again if the room was off the street.

Good location and "old world feel". Undergoing renovation last visit (aug09), but should be better for it in the near future

We enjoyed our stay, but the gym is really set up for men with the size of the weights on offer, and we had pigeons nesting outside our window who made lots of noise. Cheers

Why would anyone stay anywhere else? I sent my sister and her partner her for a 'kid-free' getaway, and they raved about the level of service, warm and inviting rooms, full length claw-foot bath - what more do you need? Excellent value for money.
