Wedgewood Hotel & Spa Vancouver Guest Reviews
My credit card had difficulty the first time they ran it (I was traveling out-of-country), and the front desk staff told me to go ahead and settle in, then come back down to resolve the issue. The awesome professional cleaning staff neatly placed all my strewn jewelry in a small dish by the sink, and first pulled up the sink stopper so nothing fell down the drain accidentally. Love the attention to detail. Doorman/valets were friendly. Turndown service included two cookies and a couple of bottles of water every night. The Executive Queen room was quite small, the heating vents were less than ideally placed, and the price is normally fairly high (although in-line with boutique hotel prices in the area), no free parking, and the parking is valet, which means no quick in & out for sightseeing. What really made this hotel stand out were the fantastic staff. They exhibited all the qualities you look for in a relaxing stay: courteous, friendly, efficient, and accommodating. We didn't try the spa services, or the restaurant (too many other things to see in Vancouver!), but the location is fantastic. You can walk to everything around downtown, and easily bus to the West End, if you don't feel like a bit of a hike. Tons of shops and restaurants within a dozen blocks, and the couple of block radius around the hotel felt very safe (half-dozen blocks in one direction late at night gets skeevy). Check your map and online to make sure you're not headed off towards a bad area if you walk late at night.
