5 out of 5

Everything was perfect. Check-in was quick and easy. The valets were great. Lovely room. We especially enjoyed the pool and the fire on the terrace. It is an easy walk to the metro at Dupont Circle and we were just a short cab ride from the Kennedy Center (the metro goes there too). Great staff! Loved every minute of our stay!

I used to live in DC a few blocks away from this hotel, and it is my go-to location when I come back to town if the price is right. It's a beautiful building, with wonderful amenities, in a great location, away from the glut of tourists. Stay up high on the front-facing (towards SW) side if you can the views are better this way and you'll see the sunset. It's a great neighborhood for food and shopping (Tabletop, Kramerbooks). My only real complaint is that the food and amenities inside the hotel are expensive. They charge for in-room internet, which is wired, and the food ain't cheap. If you just want a simple breakfast, say a coffee and a bagel, you'll pay more than at the airport. Lastly, to make up for the in-room charges for internet, they offer free wifi in the lobby. This is a kindness, but unfortunately, this means what used to be a lovely lobby bar in the evening (we used to go when we lived in the neighborhood) is now full of people in pajamas and the glow of laptop screens. Bummer.

We went there to celebrate the 4th of July and to visit all of the landmarks because I had never been to Washington D.C. It was perfect for what we needed. We had a wonderful view from our room and everything was in walking distance which was very nice. We would walk everywhere we wanted throughout the day and then take a cab back to the hotel room when we were finished for the day. The staff was very kind and helpful. We ate at the bar one night and the food was just okay but the wait staff was great. The only thing that I was not impressed with was the price for parking. We paid $37 a day for valet parking and never moved the car while we were there but it was not that much difference for self-park. That might be a good deal compared to other places however, I am not use to paying for parking. Overall, the hotel was great and we would stay there again. Wonderful Italian restaurant called Odeon Cafe...has the best spaghetti and meatballs
