Our room was small and the bathroom was tiny!! There was a damp smell throughout the hotel (more so on our level than the lobby). The air conditioner was really cold no matter what setting we changed it too and it blew really cold air directly onto the bed! Also the pillows were awful...really really soft so your head sunk down to the mattress!!

The Waldorf is a lovely old hotel, very genteel, very comfortable bed. Bathroom old fashioned and tight. No tea/coffee in the room but an experience to say 'I've been there'. Staff excellent, very pleasant check in process. Glad we did it. Close to subway, walking around the area very easy, close to Grand Central Station...about 4 blocks away.

We wanted to stay in Manhattan. Not knowing much about NYC (as this was our first visit), we searched this website and read the reviews. This helped us A LOT!!. The Hotel was EVERYTHING we expected and more. Nice standard size room (not massive, but enough), excellent service & staff, amazing atmosphere, brilliant foyer, wonderful amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and it DEFINITELY made our FIRST NYC visit SO MUCH BETTER!!

It definitely lived up to its reputation...food and wine as good as you'll find anywhere in NYC...and a lovely room. The reason we stayed there was the very low nonrefundable rate probably due to the Park Ave facade being renovated....causing absolutely no inconvenience to us...and less than lower quality hotels at the time.
