This was a really nice place just a little basic. I actually didn't realize we signed up for the breakfast package which made it a great value in the end. If you're going to be out and about, this place is great. If you're just going to hang at the hotel, it might get a little old.

Here you can have nice rooms next to the beach. Better value than the hotels in the close neighborhood. Watching whales from the restaurant balcony at breakfast early in the year is great.

Wailea is a great spot and this is a lovely resort in most ways. I'm not wild about the floors having no carpet on them and some of the wait staff were definitely better than others. It would also be great if there were more slides for kids like the Grand Wailea has next door. But, for the most part, this was a great spot. Also, it was *great* having a Starbucks right on the campus!

It was weird being in Hawaii at Christmas. The hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays with Christmas trees, garland and a bunch of poinsettias. We went the week before Christmas and it got busier and busier as the Christmas weekend arrived. The hotel, spa, pool and staff were nice. One bad thing was a $30 per day "resort fee" that was tacked on the bill. Why not just charge $30 more per room and avoid this shakedown fee? Also, there was an optional $30 per day valet parking fee. Skip it and park the car yourself in their garage. For thirty bucks I can walk a block.

The hotel is in such a fantastic location! We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the beach walk and sunsets. We walked every morning and evening, and spotted many humpback whales. Even though our room was a garden view room, we could plainly see the ocean from the table and chairs just outside. The room was very comfortable and the many pools (one with waterslides) were convenient. We enjoyed the open air concept of the hotel common areas and went to Starbucks a lot. We mostly went to Wailea Beach because it was closer to the end of the hotel where our room was located, but liked the lower-key vibe at Ulua Beach. Our only negative feedback on the hotel has to do with the resort fee, which essentially just covers parking and one free coffee (for the entire stay, not per day). It didn't even cover wireless internet, which is an additional $15 per day (yet free at most resorts). My husband was irritated by the way we were being 'nickeled and dimed." But, like I said, everything else was great. If the resort fee could be eliminated (and maybe worked into the price of the room) or at least include more, it'd be the perfect place to stay.

The hotel is fantastic, the grounds are beautifull and the pools look out on the ocean. The grounds are well maintained with flowers and trees.

This hotel is great from couples that need a getaway in paradise to families with children. The resort has everything you need on site. From the adult only pool to the chidren's pool with cool waterslides, and the beach just steps away. Its truly paradise!

Second stay at this hotel and would come back. The location is great. Serenity pool is awesome. There is even an on-site SBX now which rocks.

the resorts sits in an amzing place, the coast and the water are fabtastic. The facility itself, especially the rooms, could be better.

Nice hotel- but doesn't allow you to step outside of the resort experience. It was not exactly a warm place to be. It was not bad, or even so-so. The property was beautiful and our room was nicely furnished, although the bed was exceedingly uncomfortable. Overall it was a good place, but nothing felt special. My wife and I felt like a number... on our honeymoon. Enough said.

Our family of 5, with 3 kids in middle school, absolutely loved our stay in Wailea and at the Marriot. We can't wait to go back.

Asked to have a room with a refrigerator and freezer, since we had frozen fish from a fishing trip. Were surprised to get a tiny refrigerator - no freezer.

The good: Close to beautiful beaches on either side, great sunset views, adult only pool, modern rooms with comfortable pillow top mattresses and feather pillows. The not so good: The additional $30 per day fee for on site parking garage...no way to get out of this fee. Restaurant on site is ok, but not great. The area around the hotel seems to close early...not much to do after about 800. If you want a more active nightlife I would recommend Lahaina.

From our first footsteps on the property we were greated kindly and warmly. The hotel ended upgrading us from a single inside terrace room to a junior suite with a few of 2 pools the the ocean. Everywhere you looked it was like you were looking at a postcard. The hotel grounds were beautiful an all of the pools were amazing. Food is expensive everywhere, wether you stay and eat and drink at the hotel or eat at a nice nearby restaurant. WAIT FOR HAPPY HOUR! If you can (drinks at $14 each add up quick!), lots of nearby resturants offer great happy hour specials that can save you a lot of money. We booked all of our daily activites at the hotels activity desk and they were also very helpful with suggesting some of the better companies to choose from. I highly suggest the Mt bike tour down Mt Haleakala, taking helicopter tour to Molokai, and we even jumped islands over to Oahu to go swimming with the dolphins at the Sea Life Park. It's great to plan all you activities early in the morning to get them out of the way so that you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day by the pool or doing something else.

The hotel is beautiful, clean, the staff is friendly and the pools are really nice. There's nothing special about it though. Its what you'd expect from a Marriott on Maui. One thing we didn't expect though was being gauged as much as we were. I called downstairs to request a fork and was told to come and get it myself if I didn't want to pay the delivery charge... for a fork. Drinks are expensive and the food is too. There is a happy hour by the pool from 3 - 6pm. The walk along the beach is nice. There's not a lot around the hotel other than the shops though and after a day or two by the pool, we were looking for more. There's no culture near the hotel, its just shops and a bit too perfect - so we spent most of our time away from the hotel visiting all the other towns. If you like to lay by the pool and not do much else, this place is great. If you want to get more out of your vacation, I would stay in Lahaina where there's more shops, beaches, museums, culture, etc.

Upon entering the outdoor lobby we felt like we were in paradise. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable. We did eat at Mala one night and it was excellent. Make sure to eat outside to get the view of the ocean. We were a little upset because upon arriving we received a %20 discount from our hotel when dining at Mala and we forgot it and were not allowed to redeem afterwards. (our fault i guess). The adult pool was absolutely amazing. It was an endless pool that looked connected to the ocean. Really breathtaking. This was our honeymoon so it was worth it!
