Except for the great location on one of the best Big Island beaches, this hotel did not meet my expectations as a Marriott Resort. I took a risk in booking after reading other review sites and since I got a great rate in high season, I am modestly satisfied. Infinity pool is nice but the sandy beach main draw. Marriott normally prides itself on staff but there is plenty of work to do at this property. NO wireless internet in guestrooms and OLD TV's. Peeling wallpaper and cracked grout in bath. Easy walk to shopping, dining and the Hilton Waikaloa which is more resort like than this Marriott.

Nice beach. The hotel rooms were almost full however it was not so noisy or crazy busy as we expected. We could spent a peaceful 4 nights and at the beach. They might need 2nd dining again in a future... We would love to go back to this Marriott soon.

The hotel offered lots of amenities in a casual and elegant atmosphere. Staff was always friendly. My only complaint was the bathroom exhaust fan. It was anemic to the point of being useless. Building maintenance crew said they fixed it, but it was still anemic.

It is our first time to stay in Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa during this holiday season. We feel it is very confortable and cleaning, with big room size, beautiful swimming pool and beach, it is delicious breakfast, price is a little higher, $30 per person for breakfast buff than we wish, plus there is extra surcharge $25 per day for packing, internet, which supposed to be inlcuded in room rate.

We have stayed at this resort off and on about 6 times over the last 12 years. We went back this Dec 2011 after a 4 year hiatus. It was the same fabulous view of the ocean and beach side access to great snorkeling, and convenient access to restaurants and shops that it has always been. But the king size bed was way too soft this time.. No support so I had back, neck, head aches and side aches until they flipped the mattress to the side that is not meant to be up, and I bought 2 layers of egg crate foam and took sleeping pills and 1200 mg tylenol each night. They did not have any other alternative type of bed or foam. I have slept at many other Marriott hotels and not had this problem--I usually find the Marriot has good beds for me. If you need a firm yet comfortable sleeping surface, this is not the hotel for you. If you can manage the bed, it is an awesome place!!!

The hotel has lots of options for usage and in essence was good however, it needs some painting, reconstruction and better organization of the rooms. We had for example only one chair in the room and a desk, there was soemthing like a night stand between the two beds which has such construction that was partially not usable and this was all. (room 3154). Even the cheapst hotels should think for some more comfort in their rooms. The TV was a huge old fasioned one, the chairs on the balkony were comfortable but the tabe was too small.

Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Only thing that bugged me was the high parking fee, when there was no alternative parking. I won't return because of this. Even high end hotels charge less than $25 per day.

Stayed 11 days from Nov 23-Dec 3rd. We had issues with the bed which was lumpy and sagged right down the middle. Smart/high tech air condition had sensors that would shut off the air if you were not in the room, open the front door for whatever reason and balcony door. This meant we spend several night waking up hot and coming back to a warm room throughout the day. You would have to manually reset the air when this occurs. Took us over a week to figure it out, thought it was broken the entire time. Overall the managers at the hotel were very accommodating and made up for the bed and air situation.

The hotel room was quite large and very clean. It has a great pool area and nice beach. Shopping is just across the street. It is somewhat remote from the town area activities. We stayed here because of the good rate and the beach and shops nearby.Good

There were some disappointing items while our stay at Mariott Waikoloa. On our arrival day there was no water at the hotel so we could not take a shower after the long flight from Europe and even could not use the toilet. During all our 6 days the hot spa pool was provided with the notice: "the heating system is under repair". The offered towels at the pool were too small. But most disappointing was the inacceptable internet access. With response times of several minutes for one entry or (mostly) no response at all, it was simply unusable. However the hotel does charge for these "services" daily USD 25 +tax.

Aside from having daily $25 fee assessed for "activities" which we didn't use, this was a nice place for our honeymoon.

The Marriott Beach Hotel is located very well. The ocean, beach, pools, and near by King's and Queen's shopping malls make things easy to support your needs while staying here. The hotel and guests were quiet and allowed for a restfull stay. The $25/day resort fee is excessive ... it included internet, parking and phone calls. We paid $4/day to park in LA while we were here. Didn't need the phone and didn't bring a computer for the internet since we were vacationing.

Being a Marriott Silver member, I expected a little more than was received. Our room had a limited view of the pool (we are supposed to have an automatic upgrade) and we were celebrating a birthday, which the hotel staff failed to notice, even though I called a week ahead to notify them. I hate to sound entitled, but this is not the usual experience I have with Marriott. The housekeeping was average. The bathroom floor was dirty upon arrival around the floorboards, but we didn't complain. We were also shorted towels/washcloths everyday. Turndown service at a beach hotel is also something I missed. This is basically because after you freshen up from your beach day, it's nice to return to a sand free, a replenished room for the next morning. The staff overall was very friendly and helpful, especially in the valet, bell and restuaurant/coffee shop departments. Shuttle service for shopping ($2 each way) and for a walk around the Hilton (free) is available. Overall, we were happy with our stay, just a few nit-picky issues.

This was our first time on Big Island and of couse at Waikoloa Beach Mariott Hotel. The grounds are great, the pools are awesome and the staff is very friendly. To make it perfect they would need to work on the food quality; high prices with low to average quality food. But one can always go to Roy's (inside Kings' Shops shopping area) which is just accross the street. We will be back for sure!

Relaxing stay at the Marriott, had dinner across the way at Merriman's. If you prefer more excitement, the Hilton offers a livelier vibe.

Nice layout, pools and beach. Location great for walking to restaurants and shopping. Could use more umbrellas by the pool. Housekeeping was a little iffy. Used towels and wash clothes piled up even though replaced with fresh ones. Two wash clothes one day, one the next, none the next, four the next day, etc. Bed was really soft.
