Viva Wyndham Maya Playacar Resort All Inclusive Guest Reviews
Got to hotel and checked into room to find no towels in room, no hot water, and the whirlpool that we paid extra for not working either. The hot water was fixed after complaining to atleast 5 people. The concierge is pushy and will call your room every day to see if you want to sit through a presentation on the Viva Condos. We upgraded to a nicer room (60.00/day) and had a better view of the ocean and there were finally no problems with the room. The food is good, but doesn't vary that much at all from day to day. There are a lot of things to do at the hotel and a lot of shops right outside the hotel, the ferry to Cozumel is less than a 5 minute cab ride away, and the beach and pool are both great. I would stay here again, but in the upgraded room from the very beginning.

it is a nice hotel. kind of cute. the wireless doesn't work right. If you want to have fun you have to schedule your plans before to arrive.

We had reservations at the Viva Wyndham Maya. We were there in April and loved it. When we arrived they were overbooked. They sent us to the Wyndham Azteca and said it would be an upgrade. We got there and it wasn't. We wanted a King not 2 doubles. It also smelled damp and was dark and dreary. They finally gave us a king which was great until they sprayed for ants that were on our nightstands. I have breathing difficulties (asthma) and at first they said they didn't have any other rooms. The manager came to our room a few minutes later and said they had a room for us. It ended up being a pool and ocean view. 2 doubles but it was a very nice room. Be aware they only provided 1 bottle of water for both of us for our full stay. If you want more you have to buy them. They also have bulk water in the snack bar. We just filled our 1 bottle up. After our accomodations were in order we had a wonderful time. We were able to use the facilities at the Wyndham Maya also. We walked there a few times and had drinks and lunch. Their wifi isn't good. Not even in the "hot spots". It is slow or nothing at all. I would recomend the hotels . All in all they are both nice. We had a great time.

Upon arival, we were told that their was something wrong with our room and it was in the process of being worked on, and we would have to be taken to the RUI resort and stay there. As for the RUI resort it was huge and we had a room that was furthest from the ocean( four minute walk to the sand). The food and beverage were good.
