Hotel is a 15 minute bus ride outside Florence in a wonderful location in the Tuscan hills. However it is rather tired and in need of updating.

BEAUTIFUL grounds, decorations, layout, and views from the hills above Florence. A perfect step back into history and romance, if you love antiques, olive groves, artwork, superb dining, and helpful staff. My husband and I would return over and over again if given the opportunity to return to Italy. A perfect escape above the noise and hustle of the city below. Close to bus line to reach all of Florence's destinations. Owner and staff go out of their way to be helpful, book musuem reservations, help book transportation to the train station or airport, and offer travel tips, etc., all at no additional cost. I cannot tell you enough how amazing this villa really is!!!

Difficult to find if you drive your own car. Instead of expensive parking in Florence - you can take the bus. It goes quite frequently and takes only 10-15 minutes to city centre. Spectacular views and special atmosphere with outdoor breakfast in summer. The rooms are spread in three old villas. Our room was run down and not very nice - but the cleaning was good. During thunder storms, twice the lights went out and rain water poured in trough the ceiling. We were refused a refund. Hotel dinner was expensive and under average.

The location of this hotel and its views are fabulous - on the hills overlooking Florence and only twenty minutes by bus into the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was of a high quality. The hotel charges guests €1.50 per day per towel for use at the pool which I would not expect from a 4 star hotel and also, while not dirty the hotel could have done with a thorough dusting

Despite our concerns that the hotel would be too far out of Florence's centre, it's really acessible. Friendly staff at the reception sell bus tickets and bus times are very regular. It's a maximum ten minute walk to the bus stop, and a very pleasant one at that. If you prefer cab, expect to spend between 14-20 Euros per ride. Apart from that, our room was lovely, we had a part of villa to ourselves with great views of the Tuscan landscape. Walking to breakfast took us passed olive groves, and the seating area was wonderful. It's definitely a nice place to stay if you want peace and quiet.

The hotel, while out of the city centre, is well served by a bus. Just remember to understand clearly where you get down from the bus on the way back. Please remember that it is an old 'villa' so don't expect a modern bathroom. The bathroom was clean and had all that one would expect - but it was not 'modern'

this estate is a bit run down, obivously the family is not much interested in it. BUT you can see it's glory and IF you can tolerate chips, lack of paint, a a few tattered things, it is extraordinary.l IF I had to pay full price, without warning of these drawbacks, I might have been a bit disappointed. But we had a special rate and room with stunning view...a walk from the main building.

The hotel was lovely - set in olive groves in a very quiet part of the city. However, the hotel was a a little too far out if you are hoping to be able to pop in to the city for sightseeing and back to the hotel for a break. We had to stay out all day and night for the most part as it was a good 30-40 min bus journey each way depending on the traffic. It would be a great place to explore the rest of tuscany from though if you hire a car. Otherwise it's a little tricky to get to - especially on foot!! But it really was a lovely place. However, as it was ouot of season there werer few staff around and it was almost impossible to make use of the bar as staff were often engaged elsewhere. But dont let this put you off - it was very cheap and a really nice place.

To our delight the dinner menu at the hotel was simple Italian food made extremely well and was of a quality and consistency that anyone would find appealling. After dinner each night would always wonder how the chef's were able to extract such wonderful flavours from the foods on offer. The location of the hotel is ideal for car drivers who do not wish to drive into the city, as the bus stops just outside the hotel gates and is every 20 mins. We will be going there again.
