We have stayed here many times and have always been highly impressed by everything except the occasionally disinterested staff member and the restaurant. It is clean, well maintained, perfectly positioned for public transport or walking, has great parking facilities and contemporary amenities. The pool is delightful and the hum of traffic from Royal Parade is not too overwhelming. Coach tourists can be quite noisy as the hallway/room sound-deadening is not as good as the newest hotels.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. It is 'handy' to the city of Melbourne, and set amongst the leafy parklands of North Carlton. Being across the road from the Carlton Football Club ground, it would be ideal for footy fans from interstate, or avoiding if you are not into footy! Our room was certainly clean and spacious with 2 queen beds. Quite large bathroom, although the shower head threatened to fall out of the wall. Our visit was definitely at an off-peak time, but it is fair to assume that it be quiet even when the hotel was full. The only downside was that it seemed to lack a vitality that we were expecting from the name... and the lime green arch.

This is the second time I have stayed here and find it terrific value. Very spacious rooms which are comfortable, easy access to the city, gym/pool/etc if you want it, and a reasonable breakfast make it great value. Not luxurious, but the service is great and it is ideal for a longer stay. Sheila Schmidt, Perth.

great place for ease of access to city but last two times we stayed we got noisy rooms..need to ask if u can get a back room..front rooms are noisy
