Efate Island Climate
Temperatures do not vary much throughout the year in tropical Efate Island; highs range from 24°C to 29°C (75°F to 84°F), while lows are 19°C to 23°C (66°F to 73°F). The dry season from June through November receives 100 mm to 160 mm (4 inches to 6 inches) of monthly rainfall, while the wet season, from December through May, has 200 mm to 340 mm (8 inches to 13 inches) of monthly accumulation.
Getting There & Around
Port Vila has an international airport serving Efate Island with flights to and from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and other Pacific Islands. You can also take a boat to Port Vila from several other island ports.
You can get around the island inexpensively by bus, mini-bus and shared taxi. Fares are usually flat rates. Water taxis or small charter aircraft are available to move between islands.
