Universal Port Hotel Osaka

A lovely hotel with a good range of dining options for a family - we particularly liked dinner at the lobby lounge and breakfast at the Rex cafe. Convenient location for the ferry to the Osaka aquarium and a short walk to Universal studios. This hotel exceeded my expectations and was great value.

Don't stay in this hotel if you're not going to play at Universal Studio, nothing else but US & Universal Walk. But all in all, the hotel room itself was a satisfactory. You might not want to stay here either if you're traveling with children though -- the fridge is the smallest type, you can't put anything in there except for snacks. And the coin washing machines are also small for only 4.5 kgs capacity. But no need to worry about food! Even after the restaurants are closed, there's a Lawson convenience store 5 minutes away from the hotel ;)

Very clean hotel located near universal city osaka, a very good place to stay while visiting universal city. One concern was the room rate as it got cheaper a few days before our stay (checked at hotels.com), I was thinking by booking ahead it would be cheaper but then I guess that's what last minute deals are for...

We stayed here with our two children and the rooms were very comfortable. The location is great with Universal Studios straight across the road, also plenty of eating places in the City walk area. It was very easy to take a ferry ride across to the Aquarium as well.

If you have children, this place is fantastic...they really cater for families. The decor and atmosphere is just gorgeous, spotlessly clean and very close to Universal Studios Japan. As this is the official hotel for the theme park, it's very much geared toward visitors who are also visiting the park. I have to say considering how nice the hotel is, I was very surprised by the lack of smiles and warmth from staff. They all seemed very abrupt and "over it". I guess dealing with families and kids can take it's toll... They had a vending machine room on our floor and also for alcohol...very handy. The room service menu was pretty uninteresting...it's a pity they didn't have a bigger range to choose from. Overall, the beds were comfortable, and the actual hotel was gorgeous, it would have been "outstanding" if the staff were more friendly.

we arrived late at night and felt very tired. However, the receptionist was so nice that we had our rooms upgraded. Rooms and beds were large and spacious.

I have stayed twice in this hotel. Very clean and walking distance to Universal Studios Japan and train station. Will stay there again if I ever go to Osaka again.
