This hotel was such a disappointment that I have not even completed my 1 day stay yet before writing this review. I feel the need to write this so that people such as myself will actually know what to expect. When I pulled up to this hotel I got the feeling that I was kind of in the hood... or atleast not in a main hotel area. The outside is very discouraging... The lobby, however, actually looks nice. I initially called and changed my reservation to 1 king bed, since I was staying by myself and didn't need two beds.. This put me on the 5th floor (no problem, I thought). When you step off of the elevator is when you become aware of the type of property that this is. The hallways are all outdoors (like a motel) and very run down looking! The further I had to walk to my room (way down the empty, outdoor hall and around the corner) the more I actually became a little afraid. I really felt unsafe. Arrived at my room and at first sight it didn't seem bad. As I sat down and looked around though, it was nasty room with a couple of nice decorative items to make up for it I guess. The rug was very old and actually torn up at the edges. Walls dirty. An old box t.v. sitting on an old worn dresser. I am not exaggerating one bit. I felt so uncomfortable that I called the front desk, expressed my disgust with the room and asked for a refund. I gathered my bags and went to speak with the front desk, while at the same time on the phone with a friend whom was searching for a hotel for me. The front desk ended up switching my room back to the original 2 bed room, which she said was an upgrade on the house. I told her I would see if it was ok. I will say that the 2 bedroom room, for some reason was significantly better than the king bed room. There was tile instead of carpet and instead of an old t.v. on an old dresser there was a flat screen on a new modern dresser, as well as a few other things. Management also placed me right on the first floor, directly across from the pool as opposed to the 5th floor creepy hallway. I accepted, since I was only staying 1 night. Also, all the reviews that say you hear the train going by are TRUE. This has been my worst hotel experience ever. I am awake, writing this review and literally waiting for daylight so that I can check out.

I.m glad to let you know. The hotel is about 200yards from the railroad tracts crossing Commercial Ave., a major street. About 20-30 trains went "through" our room during the night, each time sounding their air horns several times.Needless to say that we could not sleep a wink. It was a terrible night. We could not recommend this hotel to any one even though the rooms were relatively nice. It is entirely a location issue and there should never be a hotel in this spot. By all accounts it would be fair to refund our money ($100.00). Respectfully, L. Minuth

This hotel is far from the centre and the beach. It is also next to railtracks and a major highway (I-95) which result in 24-hour high levels of noise. The room I was assigned had a broken air conditioning/ventilation unit and a single comfortable chair that was sained and dirty. One gets what one pays for...
