The Lincoln Memorial is a staple landmark of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The site of the March on Washington in 1963 and famous “I Have a Dream” speech by Martin Luther King, Jr. draws more than 3.5 million visitors every year. Built in 1922, the Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool sit across from the Washington Monument and Constitution Gardens. Some of the best attractions in the U.S. capital are close by, such as the Air and Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History, Vietnam Veterans Memorial and National World War II Memorial.

The Lincoln Memorial is open 24 hours a day. The U.S. National Park Service administers the grounds.
The monument can be seen on the back of the U.S. five dollar bill.
The Lincoln Memorial contains inscriptions of the Gettysburg Address and Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural address.
