Vail Climate
Since Vail exists at such a high elevation, the town experiences very cold winters and gets over 5 metres of snow each year. In the summers, though, the area has a very mild climate with high temperatures around 27ºC and light breezes each day.
Getting There and Around
Vail has no local airport, but is serviced by a regional terminal called the Eagle County Airport 48 km away. To get there, many tourists need to take a commercial flight to a larger Colorado city such as Denver and then board a smaller shuttle flight to Eagle County Airport in nearby Gypsum, Colorado. From there, visitors can then rent a car or board the local bus.
Getting around town is relatively easy, since the town is pedestrian friendly and built for walking. A local service offers complimentary shuttle transportation every few minutes.
