When To Go
November through March is a great time to visit Salt Lake City. The weather is perfect for skiing and other snow sports, as well as attending early spring events and activities. The winter temperatures range from highs of 40°F (4°C) to lows of 24°F (-4°C).
April through October are considered off-season with few resorts open. However, spring is a beautiful time to visit Utah and see the snow-capped mountains covered with flowers and greenery at their feet.
Summer (May-August) in Salt Lake City has a dry, pleasant heat with daily temperatures reaching around 97°F (36°C).
Getting There & Around
To get to Salt Lake City, many will fly into the Salt Lake City International Airport. From the airport, there are shuttle buses, public transport, taxis and rental cars available. From inside the United States, the interstates and highways are easily traversed by rental car. Also, Amtrak and Greyhound offer train and bus service for long-distance travel.
Within the city, private car and public transport are the best modes of travel. Sightseeing can be done in the downtown area on foot, but taxis and public buses are available for convenience.
