Getting There
Many visitors to Olympic Valley choose to drive to the centre of the valley or a neighbouring town. The best route is to take I-80 through into California, if you come from another state. Other, smaller highways, such as Highways 59 and 395, lead through the neighbouring cities. If you plan to rent equipment, rather than bring your own, it might be better to fly to California separately, and then take the closest route from the airport to the valley. The closest airport, the Reno/Tahoe International Airport, is only a short ride on the 395 away from Carson City, or a slightly longer drive to Nevada City. If you are willing to take the drive, the scenery across the expanse of California by car can be gorgeous to behold, and certainly photo-worthy.
