With more than 2 million people, Queens is second only to Manhattan in New York City borough population. The city within the city is wildly diverse, from dense urban streets near the border of Brooklyn to grassy, suburban pockets further west towards Long Island. Worthwhile points of interest in Queens include Flushing Meadows Park, the site of the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament, and Citi Field, the home field of the New York Mets baseball team. Aside from sports, the borough contains superb attractions like the Queens Museum of Art, New York Hall of Science, P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center and Noguchi Museum.

Vitals and Tips

As with other Big Apple boroughs, Queens is easily accessible by subway and other forms of public transit.

Close to half the population of Queens hails from outside the United States, most notably from Latin America and Asia.

Queens is first and foremost, a borough of neighbourhoods. Major districts include Astoria, Long Island City and Jamaica.
