As such, the city is typical of many state capitals and big university towns, with a superb arts and culture scene, good restaurants and bars and some terrific attractions. These include the Nebraska State Capitol, Great Plain Arts Museum and many landmarks in Downtown Lincoln on the National Register of Historic Places. The city has a notable park system, most of which connect via a network of recreational trails. Antelope Park, home of Lincoln Children's Zoo and Sunken Gardens, Haymarket Park and Pioneer Park Nature Center all deserve visits.
