Getting There & Around

You can drive to Lafayette, Louisiana, using I-10 from New Orleans and Houston or I-49 from Shreveport and Alexandria. There is a local airport that offers domestic flights to other major Louisiana cities. By rail, the Amtrak Sunset Limited takes passengers from New Orleans to Lafayette three times a week in about three hours.

Lafayette has a city bus system with stops all over town, but most people drive around town. Parking is not really a problem unless you are going to a major event on the local university campus.
