The city of Columbus is a convenient base to explore the Peach State and metro Atlanta. While home to several fine attractions, the capital of Georgia proves hard to resist for most visitors to Columbus. Other popular tourist attractions in Columbus include the Coca-Cola Space Science Center. With no less than seven flight simulators and a multi-purpose planetarium, the center is always a big hit with astronomy and science buffs. Last but not least, downtown Columbus has some fine cultural and entertainment draws in the Columbus Civic Center and RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.
